Athletic Club tickets attract fans from all over Spain and Europe who seek to experience a club that honours tradition while consistently competing at the top level of Spanish football.

Historic Athletic Club Moments

Athletic Club is one of only three teams never to have been relegated from La Liga, alongside Real Madrid and Barcelona. Their early dominance in Spanish football is reflected in multiple league and cup titles, including winning the inaugural La Liga season in 1929–30. The club also secured a series of Copa del Rey titles throughout the 20th century, solidifying its position as a domestic powerhouse.

A golden era came during the 1980s, when Athletic Club, under the guidance of Javier Clemente, won back-to-back La Liga titles in 1982–83 and 1983–84. The club also completed the domestic double in 1984 by lifting the Copa del Rey, a feat that remains a highlight of their modern history.

Memorable Moments

One of Athletic Club’s most memorable achievements came in 2015 when they defeated Barcelona 5–1 on aggregate in the Supercopa de España. The emphatic 4–0 win at San Mamés stunned the Catalan giants and marked the club’s first major silverware in over three decades. Aritz Aduriz’s hat-trick in the first leg remains legendary among supporters.

Another unforgettable moment came in 2021 when Athletic Club won the Supercopa again, defeating both Real Madrid and Barcelona in a dramatic and hard-fought competition. These triumphs were celebrated not only for their results but also for reaffirming the club’s philosophy and ability to compete with the biggest teams using homegrown talent.

Stadium Atmosphere

San Mamés, known as "La Catedral," is one of the most revered stadiums in world football. Rebuilt in 2013 on the same historic site, the modern stadium maintains the soul of the original, offering an incredible blend of tradition and innovation. With a capacity of over 50,000, San Mamés delivers one of the most intense and passionate atmospheres in Spain.

Athletic fans are renowned for their loyalty, pride, and knowledge of the game. On matchdays, the entire city seems to rally around the club, creating a powerful communal energy. The pre-match anthem and unified chants echoing throughout the stadium make attending a fixture in Bilbao an unforgettable experience.
