Club Atlético Osasuna, founded in 1920 and based in the historic city of Pamplona in the Navarre region of northern Spain, is one of La Liga’s most respected and community-driven clubs. Known for its fierce independence, proud Basque influence, and loyal fanbase, Osasuna has built a strong identity as a hard-working, defensively disciplined team that thrives on unity and determination. The club’s red and navy colours are proudly worn throughout Pamplona, and its supporters are among the most passionate in Spanish football.
Osasuna tickets are highly sought after by local fans and football travellers alike, particularly for home games at El Sadar, a ground known for its intensity and authenticity.
Historic Osasuna Moments
While Osasuna has never lifted a major domestic trophy, the club has enjoyed several memorable seasons in La Liga and Europe. Their best-ever league finish came in the 2005–06 season when they finished fourth, earning a place in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds. That same year, they reached the Copa del Rey Final but narrowly lost to Real Betis after extra time.
In the 2006–07 UEFA Cup campaign, Osasuna surprised many by reaching the semi-finals, defeating Bayer Leverkusen and Rangers before falling to Sevilla. It was a remarkable achievement that brought international recognition to the club and reinforced its reputation as a team capable of competing against top European opposition.

Memorable Moments
One of Osasuna’s most memorable moments came in 2006 when they reached the Copa del Rey Final. Although they lost 2–1 to Real Betis after extra time, their run to the final was built on spirited performances and resilient team play.
Another standout achievement was their 2006–07 UEFA Cup run, where they made it to the semi-finals. Wins over Bordeaux, Rangers, and Leverkusen brought European nights to Pamplona that are still fondly remembered by fans, reinforcing Osasuna’s reputation as a club that punches above its weight.
Biggest Rivalries
Osasuna’s fiercest rivalry is with Real Zaragoza, a historic clash known as the "Derbi del Ebro." This fixture is charged with regional pride and political undertones, as it pits two clubs from neighbouring autonomous communities—Navarre and Aragon—against each other. Matches between the two sides are often intense and closely contested, especially when both teams compete in the same division.
Osasuna also shares competitive rivalries with other northern Spanish teams, including Athletic Club and Real Sociedad. These Basque-Catalan-Navarrese encounters carry significant regional meaning, and victories in such matches are always cherished by fans in Pamplona.
Stadium Atmosphere
El Sadar Stadium, with a capacity of over 23,000, is one of the most intimidating and atmospheric venues in Spanish football. Located in Pamplona, it has become a fortress for Osasuna over the decades. The proximity of the stands to the pitch and the vocal intensity of the fans make it a challenging place for visiting teams.
The fans—known for their unwavering loyalty—create a fiery yet respectful atmosphere. From the first whistle, chants and banners energise the stadium, especially during derbies and crucial fixtures. The club’s identity is tightly woven into the community, and that pride is evident on every matchday.
